This authorized and partially funded the building of a secure fence line over 700 out of 1,954 miles of the US Mexican border.-Also, created demand for vehicle checkpoints, barriers and lighting along the line
- Allowed the use of high tech security and defense systems such as satellite surveillance and unmanned aerial vehicles
