• Martin Luther King, Jr. leads a demonstration in Birmingham to raise awareness and goes to jail
• White clergymen publish a criticism to MLK's demonstrations
• MLK writes a response while in solitary confinement
• MLK organizes a "Children's March" after being arrested
• Children from elementary to high school march and are arrested. The goal is to fill the jails and get some sypathy.
• Children meet at the 16th Street Baptist Church
• Bull Connor ordered dogs and water hoses on the demonstrators
• This reaches national news and raises awareness
• All jails in the city were filled
