1 janv. 1825 - Chesapeake and Ohio Canal
Description:
The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal was chartered by Adams in 1825. Even though construction started in 1828, this was a signficant moment. The canal would serve as a means of transportation, exchange, and required a tremendous amount of planning and technology in order to build and maintain. This increase in transportation and more open access to trade fostered industry near the canal, growing a bigger business scene in the regions near the canal, as resources from the canal could be utilized.
