2 juin 1807 - Chesapeake-Leopard Affair
Description:
A British ship, the Leopard, fired on an American ship, the Chesapeake right off the US coast because they were looking for British deserters. The British killed three Americans and kept four as prisoners. This affair damaged the relationship between the US and England. This also caused an uproar among Americans and eventually was a cause of the French and Indian War. Both of these things made the US trade less with England.
