30 avr. 1945 - No more common enemy

Description:

Once Hitler had died and WW2 had ended, there was no longer a common enemy between the USA and USSR. This meant that there was no need any more for the allied cooperation.
This is one of the reasons the alliance broke down.
Another reason for this alliance breaking down was the ideological differences between communism (USSR) and capitalism (USA). Communism is a one party system where business and property is state owned. Capitalism is a democratic multi-party system where business and property is privately owned.
The USSR also did not particularly trust the West after their intervention in the Russian civil war in 1918.
