Description:
On the 25th of October 1944, a group of 13 "Edelweiss Pirates" -the "Navajos"- were executed.This group opposed Nazi policy and mocked them through song. They would attack members of the Hitler Youth and spread anti-Nazi propaganda.In 1944, one group attacked the Gestapo.
The Navajos would shelter and hide army deserters and camp escapees. They were publicly hanged to set an example to other people who opposed the regime.
