1 janv. 1765 - The Stamp Act

Description:

In order to raise revenue from the colonies due to the massive war debt incurred largely on their behalf, Great Britain enacted the Stamp act upon the colonies. It required that certain documents must have a stamp (a stamp that had to be purchased from British Agents) on certain documents. This upset the colonists greatly who boycotted the purchase of British Goods and set up the Stamp Act Congress who prepared to send a declaration against Britain, but Parliament Repealed the Act due to the colonial pressure.
