1 janv. 1763 - Ponticas Rebellion/Proclamation line of 1763/The End of the French and Indian War

Description:

Following the treaty of Paris (1763) Great Britain gained control of Canada and all the land in North America to the Mississippi river. As British settlers began to push west and encroach upon land held by Indians (who could no longer play GB and F against on another), chief Pontiac and his tribal confederation went on the war path against the British. The British soundly crushed the rebellion but in order to prevent future conflict with natives the British established the proclamation line, the legal westward limit of colonial settlement. This naturally upset many of the colonists who felt that they had just shed blood to gain this land, land they were not restricted to live upon.
