13 avr. 1598 - Edict of Nantes
Description:
Signed by Henry IV in France, the Edict of Nantes offered conciliatory freedoms to Protestants in hopes of decreasing religious divides in the country and preventing a civil war. While France was still Catholic on paper, the decree radically decreased religious conflict and laid the groundwork for long-lasting relative peace between Protestants and Catholics in France.
