Tampax Tampons
Description:
"Are you sure I'll still be a virgin"
Tampon Advertising became much more popular in America during the 70s-80s. 1965 Five years after the FDA approval, 6.5 million American women are on pill, making it the most popular form of birth control in the U.S.
The headline on the poster is suggesting a young girl is worried she will lose her virginity to a tampon. Not only has there not been much education on female products over the years (and clearly not much at this time either), but this question could also be seen as relevant at the time because so many American's were also being portrayed as very sexually active at much younger ages than their parents from previous eras.
