3 déc. 1799 - The Kentucky Resolution
Description:
The Kentucky Resolution is basically the same thing as the Virginia Resolution except for one difference. The Kentucky Resolution says that states have the right to nullify any federal laws that are unconstitutional. That is the difference between the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions. James Madison was against nullification. The ideas expressed in these Resolutions become a forerunner for John C. Calhoun's arguments about nullification years later.
