Space Invaders was originally an arcade game, and since it's release has always been a cult classic and is still well known to this day. Since this was an arcade game, there was only enough storage for the game as well as high scores. The graphics for Space Invaders was a step up from Pong as it used slightly more advanced sprites compared to the lines and blocks, however was nothing revolutionary. Space Invaders did take a step foward by using colour though, as the machine used coloured tape to cover the screen, however this does not count as graphics because it was an illusion created by tape. Space Invaders was an arcade game, and while individual arcade machines tended to have one sole game installed on each one, there were plenty of games to play in the actual arcades such as Pacman, Donkey Kong and even Street Fighter.
