It was Dmitri who made a breakthrough when he made a card for each discovered element and meticulously organized them by properties. Credited as the father of the periodic table, it is clear why his important discovery led to advancement in science. It not only allowed us to better understand atoms in a convienient chart, but also allowed us to see how they compare to each other and how that affects properties.
