1 janv. 1897 - J.J. Thomson

Description:

He discovered the Electron through Cathode Ray experiments, by indirect chance! However, he did experiment with magnets to further his studies. The beam of light bent when a positive charge was present; the same goes for a negative charge. The thing about charges is that they're positive and negative. This led to the concept of the Electron being negatively charged.
Naturally--as any scientist would--he decided to create a model based on his new discovery. Thus, the birth of the "Plum pudding model" happened shortly after his experiments. Modeled after the actual desert, he created an atomic model with electrons. This was a breakthrough because atoms were no longer the smallest thing.
