Description:

Liholiho decided to break the Kapu system by eating with his mother, Keopuolani. This broke the tradition of women and men eating separately and brought about the demise of the Kapu belief system. However, not everyone was happy with this and a rebellion took place. This rebellion was quickly scilenced and temples and idols to the ancient gods were burned and dismantled.
