The Federal Act that amended the Federal Trade Commission Act by giving commission power to investigate unfair and deceptive acts or practices of commerce (such as false or misleading advertising or misrepresentation of products).So the Federal Trade Commission Act, and modified by the Wheeler-Lea Act, established the FTC as an independent antitrust agency and made unfair and deceptive sales practices illegal.
