28 juill. 1978 - Bakke v. California Decided

Description:

The decision of this court case upheld the constitutionality of Affirmative Action, which allowed race to be a factor in admissions to college, employment to jobs, etc. However, it ruled that racial quotas for said admissions were illegal. This policy would be an important factor in U.S. society for years to come, and still remains in effect in some states today, despite many people arguing that it promotes reverse discrimination, or discrimination against the majority (white people). (Continuity: legislation being passed targeted at racial injustice)
