1 janv. 1977 - Harvey Milk Elected
Description:
Harvey Milk was an openly gay politician that got elected as a San Francisco city supervisor, marking the first time a homosexual has held public office in the U.S. During his time in office, he supported a bill banning discrimination in public accomodations on the basis of sexual orientation. He would be murdered in 1978, and he would become a martyr to the gay community and an icon to the entire city. (Change: public office held by a homosexual, public opinion about homosexuality shifting enough that an openly gay man could be elected to public office)
