1 janv. 1918 - 1918 - At the end of WWI and during the ensuing armistice, President Wilson articulated his fourteen point plan for peace, which included among other points the creation of a League of Nations. Despite Wilson's leading role in establishing the peace, the United States did not ratify the common treaties with the Central Powers and did not join the League of Nations, removing itself from European affairs once more until the next world war.
