1 janv. 1148 - Almohad Empire
Description:
In the 1100s, the Almohads, a group of Berber Muslim reformers, seized power from the Almoravids, who had been growing an empire in the western Sahara. Expanding their territory, they conquered Morrocco by 1148, ending Almoravid rule, and expanded into Spain and further east along the Mediterranean. The empire had united the Maghrib under one rule for the first time. After only a century, though, it splinted into separate dynasties.
