Description:
The city of Pompeii was destroyed due to the eruption of an enormous volcano right next to Pompeii. Since no one knew what a volcano was or what to do, many people made regretful decisions based on what they knew. Many people died in the ash that preserved their bodies, or died due to collapsing roofs or suffocation. The city remains well preserved to this day, but it was quite an unfortunate event seeing as it happened rapidly.Source: Pompeii-The Last Day
