Description:
The tribune Saturnius assisted Marius in finding land for his soldiers, proposing to allocate land for both veterans and poor Romans. Saturnius used violence to force his proposals through and then to get reelected as tribune. Marius was forced to arrest Saturnius, but would not execute him. Saturnius and his followers were murdered by an angry mob in the Senate building.
