1 janv. 1832 - Great Reform Act

Description:

Before the reform, most members nominally represented boroughs. The passing of the Act included the word "male", thus providing the first explicit statutory bar to women voting, which provided a focus of attack and a source of resentment from which, in time, the women's suffrage movement grew.
