Existed and was first founded in the Hellenistic period. There were tombs that did not contain human remains. Architecture reflects Alexandria. Nabatean - People who occupied the area of petra. Petra was the capital of the Nabatean kingdom until Roman Emperor Trajan created Arabia and moved capital to Bosra (modern day Syria) The Nabatean kingdom was known as great traders and controlled the luxury trade of incense during Hellenistic and early Roman periods. Hellenistic period = 323 (Death of Alexander the Great) BCE - 31 BCE. The treasury was accessed via the siq or the canyon. Corinthian columns as evidenced by the elaborate designs at the top of the columns. The treasury is hard to date since there were no inscriptions. Made out of cut rock.
