15 août 1920 - 19th Amendment
Description:
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." The 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. Achieving this required a long and difficult struggle. Beginning in the mid-1800s, several generations of woman suffrage supporters protested the injustice of gender segregation when it came to voting. Victory took decades of agitation and protest to achieve.
