1 janv. 1954 - Brown v. Board of Education

Description:

Brown vs. Board of Education was the most important court case in the desegregation of schools. It was a series of five cases in which the NAACP brought suit against five boards of education for not allowing black students to attend an all-whites school. The chief lawyer of the case was Charles Hughes, and the case was argued by Thurgood Marshall. The Chief Justice was Earl Warren, a former governor of Califonia who integrated Hispanics into Californian schools. The decision was unanimous to desegregate schools with "All Deliberate Speed." The Court went on further and said that separate is inherently unequal, thus overturning the Plessy v. Fergusson case.
