4 h 25 min, 28 janv. 1916 ans - Manitoba Women's Suffrage

Description:

On January 28, 1916, Manitoba women became the first to win the right to vote. The movement went from the most basic level of campaigns led by women's rights activist and temperance advocates (people against the consumption of alcohol).

Five women (one of them being Nellie McClung) campaigned so they can qualify to sit on the Senate. For this to happen, women must be recognized as "persons" by the Supreme Court.

However, it is important to note that not all women have not yet earned the right to vote. Many women from minority groups have not won that franchise.
