The first super ship ever made was called the 'Bateau a Grande Vitesse' (BGV) and was first sailed in 2008, it could turn journeys of 20 hous to under 9 hours. This had a huge affect on the Travel and Tourism sector as people wanted a shorter journey, which caused competition between companies as the BGV was one of the fastest ferries in the world. Today, ferries are a hugely popular way of transportation for people who hate flying, they have also been developed to carry more passengers.
