1 juill. 1868 - Meiji Restoration
Description:
Marking the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate, the Meiji Restoration was a coup d’etat against the last shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate. It is considered the start of westernization and modernization in Japan, making everything, from military to poetry, more western. It traces back to when the United States came to Japan with a big naval fleet to reach an agreement with Japan. This made the Japanese realize it was time for a change, and that was the Meiji Restoration.
