Released in 1997 by Anatres Audio it is designed to alter the pitch in vocals and instruments. Originally created to correct any off-key mistakes made by vocalists however people have found many ways to use it and get a different sound for example, if you turn the autotune all the way up it will give the sound a robotic style.
