30 avr. 1894 - Coxey's Army marches on Washington

Description:

Coxey's Army was a march by unemployed workers to Washington DC to protest to the federal government for the financing of projects that would create jobs for the unemployed. It was led by Ohio businessman Jacob Coxey and began as 100 men in Ohio on March 25. The group began receiving more attention, and their numbers had increased five-fold when they reached the capital on April 30. They were promptly arrested for trespassing on the grass of the US Capitol, killing the interest in the portest.
