14 févr. 1950 - Treaty of Friendship signed

Description:

The Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Mutual Assistance was signed between Mao (PRC) and Stalin (USSR). It was an economically biased treaty that benefited mostly the USSR but gave China the international support it needed. It decreed that China would get $300m in aid (95% would need paying back at high interest), 8000 Chinese students would study STEM in the USSR, 20000 soviet experts would be paid by china to give aid to development (though their advice often benefited the USSR) and two Chinese ports and the right to mine in Xinjang.
The deal caused much chinese resentment of the USSR as it was seen as a bad deal.
