24 juin 1804 - Camping at Hard Scrabble Prairie
Description:
We set off this morning and crossed the river. We stopped so we could jerk our meat (It's nothing inappropriate Junker). We were afraid it would go bad. We started leaving again and we went by Little Blue River. We haven't met with any Indians yet except for the ones in the canoe near Little Shoal Creek. The hunters returned with 8 deer. We ended the day off by setting up camp at a place called Hard Scrabble Prairie. We traveled 13 miles this day. This was from Whitehouse's journal.
