30 sept. 1938 - Munich Agreement

Description:

The Munich Agreement reached between Germany, France, and Great Britain allowed Hitler to annex the Sudentenland region of Czechoslovakia, so long as his expansion ceased there. The agreement was the crown jewel in the year of appeasement, during which British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain took every action to prevent Hitler’s imperialism—apart from actually challenging Hitler in the slightest. It stood as the prime example of France and Britain’s continual underestimation of Hitler, epitomized in Chamberlain’s parting words at the meeting: “I have achieved peace in our time.”
