20 mai 1928 - Nazis receive 2.6% of the popular vote in free elections

Description:

In early 1928, the ban on the Nazi party was lifted in Germany, allowing the party to be on the ballot. While they received only 2.6% of the popular vote, this number was enough to allow 12 Nazi deputies entrance to the Reichstag including Goering and Goebbels, who gained immunity from prosecution for their outstanding charges and influence on German policies.
