1 sept. 1805 - Obtaining Food
Description:
We set out early this morning on a fine morning and moved on over high hills while passing small runs that fall into the river. Sent 2 men to the creek to purchase fish from the Indians. They returned with some that were dry. We had 4 salmon and had killed 1 deer today. We then went out and passed the country. All of the Indians left us except for the Indian that was guiding us. Even though one man shot 2 bears, we didn't get either of them. This was from Clark's journal.
