1 janv. 200 av. J.-C. - *In: Work towards a new number system

Description:

India: Scholars from as far away as China came to study at the University at
Taxila (in current day Pakistan). According to historians of India, Indian mathematicians in
cooperation with Chinese mathematicians begin working out the number system we use
today. [Note: some scholars date this at 50 BCE.] These numbers made it easier to add
and multiply, and made it possible to write fractions easily.
