Description:
Plutarco Elias Calles founded the National Revolutionary Party, which is now the Institutional Revolutionary Party, in 1929 as Mexico's leader at the time. He was also the self-proclaimed Jefe Maximo of the Mexican Revolution. The purpose of the formation of this party was to create a political space for the surviving leaders and fighters of the Mexican Revolution for which they could participate in. The party was also formed as part of the effort to solve the political crisis that emerged from the assassination of General Obregon in 1928.Ajouté au bande de temps:
