10 mai 1773 - The Tea Act

Description:

On May 10, 1773, Parliament passed a British Law that was made to bail out the East India Company, this was to expand the monopoly of the company’s tea trade and sell the extra tea at a reduce price. It was an extension of the Townshend Act that taxed British Goods. The American started to boycott the tea causing the East India Trade to have million pounds of tea to collect dust in warehouses. The British were shocked with how the Americans acted and the colonist saw the tea act as unconstitutional. The Tea Act brought back the resentment the colonist had against Britain and led up to one of the biggest rebel, The Boston Tea Party.
