Description:

The Lamanites now gathered all their forces and again assaulted the Nephite line of strongholds. While the Nephites fought boldly, likely inspired by Mormon, it was all vain. The great numbers of the Lamanites soon overwhelmed them and the Nephites were forced to flee.
All their strongholds were taken and a general route and evacuation spread through the rest of the land that was protected by the strongholds. The Lamanites showed no mercy, and all those that were not swift enough in their flight were hewed down; being either slaughtered in battle or sacrificed to idols.
