24 mars 1764 - The Quartering Act

Description:

The Quartering Act forced Colonist in America to provide British Troops with different things like food, local taverns, boarding stables, eating houses, and even alcohol. Those who couldn’t provide with a lot of food would provide housing. The colonist were supposed to provide everyday essentials to accommodate the troops and the colonist were confused with this act because the British troops weren’t really needed since the war with France ended two years ago. The colonist felt that this went against the Bill of Rights and was another tax that the colonist had to pay. Not only were the colonist outraged but even passed the “Third Amendment of the U.S. Constitution” and was another stepping stone for the Revolutionary War.
