Description:

Jashon was near to (likely bordered) the Land of Antum, where Ammaron had deposited the sacred records. So, after the Lamanite advance was checked in Jashon, Mormon went over to Antum, to the hill Shim. He took possession of only the Plates of Nephi at this time. He then recorded, in detail, all the actions of the Nephites, including all their wickedness and abominations.
These details are not had in the record we have today, as Mormon did not give a full account of them on the Gold Plates. But he did make a detailed account on the Plates of Nephi.
