Description:

The fall of Fort Sumter signalled the beginning of the Civil War. This Confederate victory set the gears of the war into motion- Lincoln quickly ordered a naval blockade on the south, which eventually caused massive inflation for the South. This fort was the Union’s final attempt to keep control of the Confederacy- its location in South Carolina was especially vital since South Carolina had already declared secession.
