Description:

On June 1, 1862, general Joseph E. Johnston was wounded at the Battle of Seven Pines and was replaced by Robert E. Lee. Lee went on to have major successes in the year of 1862, defeating McClellan in the Seven Days Battles and Pope in the 2nd Battle of Bull Run. Lee continued his advances by pushing into Union territory, hoping for Union public to support a peace agreement.
