Description:
1636 CE - 1912 CE The Qing Dynasty was founded by the Manchus, a group of nomads similar to the Mongols from the North, who occupied China after the fall of the Ming dynasty. They were able to takeover due to their strong military but also in part due to the economic failure of the Ming dynasty which saw many Chinese in support of the Manchus. They were known for their cultural changes within China, such as the queue (a Manchu hairstyle) and their support of Confucianism brought on by Emperor Kangxi. (4.3)
