Galileo Galilei was an italian astronomer, physicist, and engineer. He most known for his work with velocity, gravity, and free fall and also his use of the telescope for observational astronomy. He proved that the universe was much larger than originally believed due to him seeing other stars and showed that the heavens were not smooth bodies, but rather rough and sharp (in relation to planets).
