While Christ appeared to the Nephites in Bountiful soon after his resurrection, it took two years before the preaching of the twelve disciples and others had brought the word to all the people.
Thus it was in the year 36 that all the people, both Nephites and Lamanites were converted and became one people.

After this the people of Nephi began to grow quickly. It seems that the average life span increased, which also allowed for more children to be born to each generation, resulting in a quickly increasing population
However, this increase was accompanied by a perfect peace. For nearly 100 years there were no contentions in any part of the land. Rather there was great faith and cooperation, and many great and marvelous miracles done among the people.
