Description:
Ashoka allowed the people of India to start educating themselves and unite themselves with the outside world. He converted India's current religion to a religion of peace: Buddhism. Instead of violent warfare, he promoted peace and worked to make sure the people of his lands were treated well. He built universities for people to study and developed new trade routes and irrigation systems.
