11 janv. 1250 - The 2 difficulties with the enormous growth in trade

Description:

Even with the extra mines, there werent enough coins that were minted. Second was the moral and theological motive behind loans. Christians didn't want to make other christians pay back with interest, this was something the jews were allowed to do however. Later on the Christian church restated this statement and even opened pawn shops themselves. To medieval people lending money was shady business as it didn't take any skill, thats why merchants in order to keep a good name made generous donations to the church and didn't wear flashy clothes.
