1 juill. 1863 - Robert E. Lee - Battle of Gettysburg
Description:
Lee's decision to invade the North was probably his biggest impact on the war. While it showed the South's dedication to win the war, it was also the most important battle in the entire war. With so many casualties on each side, the battle eventually led to the Union creating a cemetery for all the 50,000 lives lost in the 3-day battle. President Lincoln even said his famous Gettysburg Address to address the horrors of the battle and emphasize the importance of the Union.
